  • “This is what happens when the president of the United States treats Iran like a friend and Israel like an enemy,” Lance Trover, a spokesman for North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgham, told the DCNF.

Many of the 2024 Republican presidential candidates have voiced their support for Israel this week, accusing President Joe Biden and House Democrats of straining relations between the United States and its allies, he told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

House Republicans have proposed a resolution supporting the Jewish state and condemning anti-Semitism during Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s visit, following several anti-Israel remarks by Democratic lawmakers. In response, the 2024 Republican primary campaign, in a statement to the DCNF, accused the Biden administration of loosening ties between the two traditionally close allies.

“There are evil forces in the Radical Left in Congress,” South Carolina Senator Tim Scott told DCNF. “They are giving aid and comfort to anti-Semitism and politicizing relations with their ally Israel. It is a dangerous and reckless signal sent by members of parliament. The rest of us should send a clear message that we stand with Israel and against those who are sowing strife in our allies.”

Ahead of Herzog’s visit, Democratic Congressman Pramila Jayapal in Washington called Israel a “racist” state after demonstrators demanded an end to Israel’s alleged human rights abuses against Palestine. House Republicans and Democrats condemned the remarks, and Jayapal released a statement on Monday apologizing for her remarks, but received support from “squad” members such as Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar, who accused Jayapal’s critics of oppressing “black and brown women.” Lance Trover, a spokesman for North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgham, told the DCNF that President Joe Biden was responsible for the “growing anti-Israel hatred” within his party.

“Anti-Semitism emerged as anti-Zionism” [was] It will be on display from Pramila Jayapal this week,” Trover told DCNF. “This is what happens when the president of the United States treats Iran like a friend and Israel like an enemy.”

Burkum’s spokesperson told the DCNF that the governor would call Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he was elected president on the first day. Netanyahu had been denied an invitation to the White House for months after Biden called the Israeli government “the most extreme government I’ve ever seen”.

Relations between the two countries have been strained by regular criticism from the White House and State Department over Israel’s judicial reforms and West Bank reconciliation plans. Former Israeli Prime Minister and opposition leader Yesh Atid, Yair Lapid, said on Tuesday that the United States was no longer Israel’s closest ally.

Conservative radio personality Larry Elder expressed concern about this “rupture” between the US and Israel.

“[Democrats] They were far too tolerant of anti-Semitism within their ranks,” Elder told DCNF. “Consider, for example, Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s recent comments declaring that ‘Israel is a racist state.’ And many support the BDS movement, even Chuck Schumer calling it anti-Semitic.

Miami Mayor Francis Suarez echoed the sentiments of other candidates, blaming Biden and the Democrats.

“The Progressive Democrats’ position on Israel is both wrong and dangerous,” Suarez told DCNF. “Another example of Joe Biden’s complete failure in foreign policy.”

Pence touted Israel’s achievements during the vice presidency when the Trump administration struck the Abraham Accords and moved the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. The former vice president accused the Biden administration of abandoning its “clear and unconditional support for Israel” and criticized statements by Omar, Jayapal and Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Talib. called Israel is an “apartheid” state.

“It’s a real shame to see so many left-wing Democrats spending their time spewing poison and bitterness on their most prized ally,” Pence said in his speech. “Let me be very clear, the statements made by these women MPs are disgraceful and undermine the dignity of the relationship between our two countries.” [America] and Israel. ”

The former vice president promised to “ensure America stands with Israel.” (Related: Ilhan Omar defends Democratic lawmaker who called Israel ‘racist’: ‘Crack down on black and brown women’s language’)

“To say I’m disappointed in this president is the most understatement I’ve seen in a decade,” Haley said in her speech. “Joe Biden has weakened America and failed to support Israel from day one.

On her first day in office, Haley promised to withdraw the United States from all anti-Israel groups and call on allies to “make it clear that we stand together.” She also promised to further develop the Abraham Accords when she becomes president.

Mr. DeSantis, who recently visited Israel for the 75th anniversary of its founding, called the restoration of relations between the United States and Israel “disastrous” and accused Mr. Biden of alienating allies.

“I think it’s shameful what this Biden administration has done,” DeSantis said in a speech. “Their treatment of powerful allies like Prime Minister Netanyahu is disgraceful. What they are trying to do to impose bad policies on Israel is disgraceful. There is a lot going on in Israel, like this judicial reform. Biden needs to get out of that situation and let Israel rule itself.”

The governor welcomed Prime Minister Netanyahu to the United States and promised to expand the Abraham Accords to bring about peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia, while ensuring no more taxpayer money goes to anti-Israel groups.
