Fox News’ “The Five” discussed Hunter Biden’s addiction advocacy and allegations made by two Internal Revenue Service (IRS) whistleblowers during a panel discussion on Tuesday.
Two IRS whistleblowers told the House Ways and Means Committee that Hunter Biden sent a WhatsApp message to Chinese energy official Henry Zhao on July 30, 2017, alleging his father’s involvement in foreign transactions. He testified to what was allegedly revealed. The whistleblowers also alleged that the Justice Department lied to Congress about Hunter Biden’s taxes under the authority of Attorney General Merrick Garland.
Instead of serving a prison sentence, the young Biden pleaded guilty to firearms charges and tax defaults in 2017 and 2018. The liberal media, especially ABC’s The View, dismissed Biden’s silence on the issue as “his father’s love” and a means to protect Hunter from drug addiction.
“So do they have a point, or are they using their addiction to protect themselves from criticism?” asked host Greg Gutfeld at the beginning of the discussion.
Fox News anchor Dana Perino said her father would use “tough love” on Hunter to stop him from “acting violently.” [his] name to get money abroad”.
“I can’t believe a father who has a son he loves so much, an addicted son, doesn’t ask him, ‘How are you doing?’ What are you doing today? What is your purpose in life today?” What are you up for?” Perino said. “‘How do you get all this money, please stop using my name to get it.’ What kind of father is a father who doesn’t ask? Where’s the tough love? Children I have a few friends who have gone through this with us and it is truly heartbreaking.Sometimes tough love takes the hardest part of it all, the worries and everything There are, but there are also consequences.”
“What bothers me about that excuse is that it may be a real excuse, but we know it’s clearly not because Hunter is incredibly talented at fundraising.” said Gutfeld. “He can’t be a complete and absolutely helpless drug addict if he’s raising millions for ‘The Big Guy.'” (Related: Psakih says attending Hunter Biden’s state dinner wasn’t ‘visually pleasing’ for White House)
Co-moderator Judge Janine Pirro said Congressional Republicans should issue articles of impeachment against Garland and Biden over the issue. Co-anchor Jesse Watters said the reports of Hunter’s drug addiction were hyperbole to distract from his business dealings with Ukrainian and Chinese energy companies.
“We set up 17 shells, withdrew hundreds of thousands of dollars from Burisma, loaned it to a Chinese dummy company, got the money back from the Chinese dummy company, and got so bad that we had no money left. How can I do that?” To pay taxes? Hey, if crack can do that, give me the pipe,” said Watters.
Liberal co-host Jessica Tarloff later held a panel discussion, arguing that no Democrat defended Hunter’s character, which will influence voter decisions in the 2024 presidential election. argued that it would not affect
“Now, Jessica, answer this question. What is the hunter’s job?” Mr. Watters asked.
“He’s a consultant,” Tarlov replied.
“For what?” Watters pressed.
“Anything,” said Tarlov.
“Anything!” Mr. Watters emphasized mockingly. “That’s your answer.”
“That’s right. No one is defending Hunter Biden’s character. Again, I’ve never seen a Democrat do that. Everyone says, ‘Vulgar, Crack addict–』
“This is about Joe Biden,” Watters interrupted.
“You just asked what the hunter’s job is, and I mean Hunter Biden has gone around the world—” Tarlov said.
“To make money for Joe,” Gutfeld interjected.
Mr. Tarlov insisted Mr. Hunter’s job was not to make money for his father, saying the American people “don’t care.” Watters said Americans were not expressing anger because federal agencies “covered up” information.
