Supervisors clarify language in new park rates | News

La Paz County supervisors have approved a new language for the fees set for the county’s parks to clear up confusion and give park staff better direction. but reverted on December 5th to clarify some points.

One of the issues that emerged was the county’s use of La Paz County Park. The new language states that county residents can use the “day-use beach areas” free of charge with proof of residency, except on certain days and special events. Day use is defined as “from sunrise to sunset” and day use areas are designated on the park map. You can also use the main boat ramp for free, except on certain days.

“Specific days” when county residents cannot use these facilities free of charge include holiday weekends such as Memorial Day.th July, and Labor Day. Special events that cannot use these facilities include, but are not limited to, Parker Tube Floats, boat races, chamber of commerce events, and special shows.

District 2 supervisor Duce Minor said she hopes county residents understand that La Paz County Park and other county parks are revenue-funded businesses. I was. They are not supported by taxes.

New pricing will be effective from 1 January 2023.
