Pinal County, Arizona — A suspect has been taken into custody for running over an old man to death in Pinal County.
20-year-old Ricky Gibson is accused of murdering 85-year-old Melvin Moore during a dispute over stolen goods. Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.
Moore hired Gibson to do some odd jobs around his property. After the motorbike disappeared, Moore confronted Gibson on suspicion of property theft.
According to PCSO, Gibson told a colleague that during the confrontation Gibson got into Moore’s truck and ran over Moore.
A passerby later found Moore lying by the side of the road Wednesday afternoon near Bateman Street and Hudson Road in Randolph.
Moore’s truck was found abandoned near Turquoise Trail and La Palma Road.
Gibson was later found at a nearby residence and taken into custody. He is in prison and charged with first-degree murder.
