‘Taking It To Spew Lies’: Left-Wing Protesters Shout Down CNN’s Dana Bash At Her Own Book Event

Anti-Israel protesters shouted down and silenced CNN host Dana Bash during a launch event for her book on Thursday night, accusing her of being “complicit” in genocide.

At least two protesters repeatedly chanted that Bash “should be in jail” for allegedly “murdering” children in Gaza and lying about the war while the CNN host promoted his new book, “America's Most Dangerous Election: Lessons from the Most Violent Election in U.S. History.” According to Bash demanded that the protesters shouting at him remove their masks and show themselves.

“You should be in jail! You should be in jail! We know who you are, we know what you're saying. [that] “This is not a war! There has never been a war. It is ethnic cleansing. Genocide. There are children being bombed, bombed, bombed, bombed, bombed! … You are participating in genocide!”

“Take off your mask,” Bash repeated as protesters continued to yell.

Bash responded similarly to another protester who accused Zionists of stealing millions of dollars from Asia-Pacific countries.

“You call yourself a good journalist? You report the truth and you ask for millions of dollars from the Zionists, millions of dollars from the Asia Pacific countries. You take millions of dollars and you live alone in that house! A house worth millions of dollars,” a second protester said. “You use that house to lie about Palestinians. You lied about the amputees. You lied about the people involved in the hospital. You lied about the students and the camps. They're just trying to exercise their freedom of speech to help their family and friends back home.”

Two men, believed to be security guards, escorted the screaming protesters out of the venue.

Bash, who is Jewish, has previously criticized the anti-Israel protests on college campuses across the US, saying on CNN on April 22 that they were “on the brink of violence” and putting Jewish students at risk. “It's not just about Palestinian rights. We received a letter from a parent of a Columbia student, the same one we reported on where a rabbi at Columbia wrote to Jewish students, 'You're not safe here,'” Bash said. “I received it yesterday morning. Their daughter was told, 'You're a Nazi,' 'Go kill yourself,' and worse. This is not protest. This is harassment, bordering on violence.”

“And the fact that Jewish students are feeling so uneasy and that it’s something that is very systematic, ultimately, coming from returning from classes that aren’t necessarily monitored, is dangerous,” Bash continued.

Bash also criticized Rep. Ritchie Torres, D-New York, a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, for inaccurately using the word “genocide” to describe Israel's war against Hamas.

According to the New York Post, a CNN spokesperson said the network “firmly supports” Bash and her reporting on anti-Israel protests on college campuses.

“We firmly support her and her reporting, and while we respect her right to free speech, she will not be intimidated and will continue to cover all subjects without fear or bias,” a CNN spokesperson told the New York Post.
