The scene has been down Wednesday In Arroyo Grande, California, the Lucia Mar Unified School District (LMUSD) Committee was holding a meeting. The junior celestian, competing on the Arroyo Grande High School track team, testified to the board about what he is experiencing around trans athletes.

Diest spoke about the embarrassment she is forced to share the locker room with a man, saying she saw her and her teammates while the trans athlete was undressing. (Related: Illinois is on a list of states that refuse to comply with Trump’s executive orders on trans athletes)

“I went to the women’s locker room and exchanged at the end of the line for track practice seen by biological men, not just myself but other young women, who were undressing. This experience was beyond trauma.”

“Okay, close it,” LMUSD Board President Colleen Martin interrupted the dyst while she spoke.

“I just want to ask, “What do you think of us?”,” Diest continued. “We can’t sit around, see women undressing, and give up our rights to deal with men who are stripping of the opportunities that once fought for us.
