“That's ridiculous,” Charmagne said. “Teachers should be telling parents everything. If there's something my child sees that I don't, something my child is missing, they should let me know.”
“It's my child. If something happens to my child, you let me know. Similarly, if something happens to my child, I know my child spends most of their time with their teacher. Any mental issues, emotional issues, physical issues, food allergies, anything, I have to let you know. That's ridiculous,” he added.
Co-host DJ Envy agreed with Charlaman, calling it “stupid.”
In June, the California Legislature was thrown into chaos when Republican state Assemblyman Bill Essari tried to speak out against the bill.
“I think this bill illustrates everything that's wrong with politics today,” Essari said in the video. Posts To Mr. X: “This bill is based on disinformation, exaggeration and fear-mongering. If the reality was as my Democratic colleagues portrayed it, I'd be with you. I'd support you. But the reality is not. So let's once again have an intelligent discussion about what's happening in our schools, what's happening in our state.”
Essari said the chairman's decision to turn off the microphones “disrupted order” and put teachers “in a position to lie to parents”.
“I'm tired of you interrupting me,” he continued, pointing to where the Democrats were sitting and adding, “Get out of their way.”
