‘The Young and the Restless’ star Brett Hadley died Wednesday at the age of 92, a friend confirmed on Facebook.
The famous actor played Genoa City Police Detective Carl Williams in soap operas in the 1980s and 1990s. according to to the New York Post. Hadley’s death was confirmed on Facebook by her childhood friend Mary Ann Halpin. She mourned her friend’s life by sharing her memories of her youth and looking back fondly on the time they spent together.
“It is with great sadness that I have to say goodbye to my friend Brett Hadley. He has been my friend since I was 19. [y]I have old ears,” she said Said.
“We were in acting class and we were the bad boys in the class. We sat in the back seat and laughed,” Halpin said, reflecting on her friendship with Hadley.
She recalled happy moments in her youth when they were carefree and enjoying their time together.
“I remember sitting in front of my apartment in Burbank, in his covered WV, under a maple tree with leaves falling on the car. I was thrown and pretended to be driving through the countryside,” she said.
“We hiked Mt. Whitney with my brother Johnny, who was only 16 at the time (he’s 65 now). He was at our wedding about 39 years ago,” she said. she said.

Halpin spoke about Hadley’s acting career and shared a story about working with him on ‘The Young and the Restless’.
“I was lucky enough to get a small part on the show as a loose woman named Angela. I will miss him, his funny, flirtatious giggle, and those twinkling eyes.Yesterday he took his final bow and gracefully left us,” she said.
