Yuma, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – Yuma County Superior Court has a new judge.
Governor Doug Ducey’s senior staff interviewed candidates who applied for this judicial vacancy in Yuma County Superior Court.
Three candidates have applied for this position: Dennis Avila Taylor, Nochemy Echavarria and Nathaniel Sorenson.
All interviews were open to the public.

Comments must be received by December 12th for consideration.
The Yuma County Superior Court vacancy resulted from the resignation of Justice Brandon S. Kinsey.
Under the Arizona Constitution, superior court judges in counties with populations less than 250,000 are elected by voters.
Vacancies created by a judge’s retirement or resignation prior to a general election are filled by the Governor’s appointment.
