Potential tornadoes were observed 25 miles south of Camp Verde on Saturday. We will provide an update.
YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. — The National Weather Service in Flagstaff Tornado Warning The storm is expected to move into Yavapai County on Saturday.
The NWS said that at 7:27 p.m. Saturday, radar picked up rotating thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes and quarter-sized hail.
The warning was lifted at 7:45 p.m., but the NWS said a severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect for the area, with large hail and damaging winds still possible.
The storm was located about 12 miles southwest of Childs Generating Station and 25 miles south of Camp Verde and was moving northwest at 10 mph.
The NWS said residents in the area should be aware of flying debris, which could damage or destroy mobile homes. Roofs, windows and homes in the area are expected to be damaged, as well as trees.
A tornado watch remains in effect for rural Yavapai County until 7:45 PM MST.
