Trump-Appointed Judge Blocks Biden Title IX Rewrite In Four More States 

A federal judge in Kansas appointed by President Trump on Tuesday temporarily blocked the Biden administration's expansion of Title IX to LGBT students in four more states.

The Mountain States Legal Foundation (MSLF) and the Southeastern Legal Foundation are representing Moms for Liberty and Young America's Foundation in the lawsuit, which is joined as plaintiffs by the four states where the rewrite was blocked. according to The plaintiffs stressed the amendment's adverse impact on free speech, and the judge agreed that the Department of Education was seeking to restrict students' First Amendment rights.

” [Department of Education]”A reinterpretation of Title IX to give gender identity equal status to (or, in some cases, superior status to) biological sex would subvert Congress's goal of protecting biological females in education,” Judge Blooms wrote in his ruling.

The order also prohibits schools attended by children of Young America's Foundation members and Moms for Liberty members in each state from implementing the rule, the press release stated. “Gender ideology has no place in public schools, and we are pleased that the court made the right decision in support of parental rights,” Moms for Liberty co-founders Tiffany Justice and Tina Deskovich said in a press release. “We will always stand up for parental rights and child protections. All parents' voices must be heard. The right to raise your own children is part of the very fabric of a free America. The federal government has no right to claim our children as their own or kick parents out of the classroom.”

“We are reviewing recent rulings that have affected four more states. “Title IX prohibits sex discrimination in federally funded education settings,” a Department of Education spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “The Department of Education went through a rigorous process to develop the final Title IX rule to implement Title IX's non-discrimination obligations. The Department stands by the final Title IX rule, which was released in April 2024, and will continue to fight for all students.”

Title IX reform has already been blocked in several other states, including Judge Reed O'Connor, a Bush appointee in Texas. Judge Terry Doty, a Trump appointee, has also blocked reform in Louisiana, and Mississippi, Montana and Idaho have joined the initial lawsuit.

Another Bush appointee, Judge Danny Reeves, in June blocked the rules in Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia.
