President-elect Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he has named former White House Cabinet Secretary William “Bill” McGinley as his new White House adviser.
in post President Trump announced on Truth Social that he would select McGinley as White House Counsel, praising him as a “smart and tenacious lawyer” who is dedicated to advancing “America First” policies. President Trump highlighted McGinley’s past role as White House chief of staff and his work on election integrity.
“I am pleased to announce that William Joseph McGinley will serve as my White House Counsel. He will help me advance policy number one,” President Trump said. “He served as White House Cabinet Secretary during my first term and played a major role in our election victory as the RNC’s outside advisor on election integrity.”
The selection marks a new addition to Trump’s cabinet. President Trump has said that former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe will be his choice to head the CIA for a second term. In a statement on Truth Social, President Trump praised Ratcliffe’s recent accomplishments, calling him a “fearless advocate” for America’s national interests. President Trump’s recent picks for key positions in his administration have included prominent Republicans, including South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem as secretary of homeland security. He also named House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik as ambassador to the United Nations, former New York congressman Lee Zeldin as head of the Environmental Protection Agency, and campaign manager Susie Wiles as chief of staff.
