The man accused of trying to assassinate former President Donald Trump on a Florida golf course in September filed a motion with U.S. District Judge Eileen Cannon on Thursday asking him to recuse himself from the case. .

The defense emphasized the possibility of a conflict of interest, given Trump’s role as the alleged victim in the case.
