Trump Believes Charlie Kirk’s Suspected Attacker Was Influenced by the Internet

Investigation into Charlie Kirk’s Assassination

In a recent conversation with the Daily Caller, President Donald Trump shared his views regarding the alleged assassin of Charlie Kirk, describing the individual as potentially radicalized online and associated with leftist ideologies.

The FBI is currently looking into various left-wing groups in Utah for their possible connections to Kirk’s murder. Trump expressed uncertainty about whether the shooter acted alone, noting that the individual appears to have developed radical beliefs through online platforms. He remarked that the suspect, who has been described as a seemingly good student and a generally well-regarded person, had undergone a significant change over a relatively short period.

“It seems like he’s been influenced online, leaning towards radical leftist views. This is not someone who should receive protection from scrutiny,” Trump stated. He emphasized the idea that the suspect’s online presence could suggest he was part of a larger movement.

Kirk, age 31, was tragically shot while engaging with a student at Utah Valley University. Almost two days after the incident, law enforcement apprehended 22-year-old Tyler Robinson on suspicions of the assassination.

Reports from the Washington Post indicate that Robinson may have confessed to the crime in an online discussion prior to his arrest, expressing remorse and mentioning his intent to surrender.

Furthermore, Discord has informed the Daily Caller News Foundation that it found no evidence indicating plans for violence stemming from Robinson’s account. However, Republican Utah Governor Spencer Cox remarked that it appears Robinson had been heavily influenced by leftist ideology.
