Trump Finally Cleans Up DC of Moped Threats

Trump Will Solve My Vietnam

Recently, I came across a New York Times video essay that caught my attention. It highlighted illegal immigrants in Washington, DC, working as food delivery drivers on mopeds. The video, titled “DC Delivery Worker Hiding from the ICE,” stated that federal agents are currently detaining immigrants in the city, regardless of their work permit status.

Since Trump intensified his efforts against crime in DC, I’ve been vocal about how we need to address the chaos caused by these moped drivers. They cluster around busy restaurant areas just blocks from my office, creating a mess. Their driving habits are reckless, often ignoring traffic laws. It’s astonishing that no significant accidents have occurred yet. I’ve seen more than a few cars get bumped or scratched by these riders.

I suspect many of these drivers could be part of a gang. For instance, in New York City, members of the Tren de Aragua have been linked to moped-related robberies. Notably, a Venezuelan moped driver was accused of killing two police officers in a traffic stop back in June 2024. A year later, a moped gang attacked officers in Times Square.

What’s surprising is that the New York Times didn’t question the claims made by these delivery drivers. They seemed to accept that at least one interviewee lacked a valid work permit without skepticism. There wasn’t any challenge regarding complaints about deportations of those who might have had work permits. Oddly enough, one woman in the video had an ankle monitor, yet the video did not explore why she was wearing it or her concerns about being apprehended.

Of course, some residents are upset by the idea of removing these mopeds from our streets. They enjoy the convenience of services like Doordash and Uber Eats. But honestly, we’re facing an obesity crisis in this country. Perhaps everyone should just walk a few blocks for lunch instead.

So, thank you, President Trump, for reducing the chaos from these two-wheeled drivers that often disrupt my daily commute. Honestly, it’s one of the best things you’ve done since fixing the water pressure in my shower.
