Trump Kicks TikTok Can Down Road For 75 More Days As American Firms Vie For App

President Donald Trump announced on Friday via True Social that he would sign a 75-day extension of Tiktok, giving the app more time to find buyers.

The Chinese-owned platform was nearing the April 5 deadline to shut down the app unless Beijing would sell the greens to US buyers. Trump previously suggested he was interested in extending the period and carrying out a potential tariff relief agreement in exchange for China’s cooperation. “My administration is working very hard to save Tiktok and we have made great strides. This deal requires more work to ensure that all necessary approvals are signed, so I am signing an executive order to keep Tiktok up and running for another 75 days,” Trump writes of the Truth Society.

“We want to continue working with China in good faith. We understand that we are not very satisfied with our mutual tariffs (needed for fair and balanced trade between China and the US!). This proves that tariffs are the most powerful economic tool and are extremely important for national security! We look forward to working with Tiktok and China. He continues.
