Stefanik is one of the first appointments announced by the incoming administration since Trump won this year’s presidential election last Tuesday. Stefanik has expressed his readiness and desire to take on the role, the newspaper said.

“President Trump’s historic landslide election gave Americans hope and reminded them that brighter days are ahead at home and abroad,” Stefanik said.
Stefanik will succeed Linda Thomas-Greenfield, President Joe Biden’s current U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, who has held the position since being appointed by Biden in 2021. He has decades of experience in government.
