President-elect Donald Trump has named Catholic Vote President Brian Birch to be the U.S. ambassador to the Holy See.
President Trump made the announcement on Truth Social Friday, praising Burch for “helping create one of the largest Catholic advocacy organizations in the country.” Birch is a devout Catholic and an outspoken supporter of Trump, urging Catholics to vote for the president-elect because of his support for religious freedom and pro-life policies.
“I am pleased to announce that Brian Birch will be the next U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See,” President Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “Brian is a devout Catholic, father of nine children, and chairman of CatholicVote. He has won numerous awards and demonstrated exceptional leadership, leading to the leadership of one of the nation’s largest Catholic advocacy organizations. He helped establish the last election. He represented me well and garnered more Catholic votes than any presidential candidate in history. Brian loves the Church and America. He will make us all proud.
