Trump Pledges To ‘Bring Peace To The World’ After ‘Very Good’ Phone Call With Zelenskyy

Former President Donald Trump vowed on Friday to “bring peace to the world” after a “very good” phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Trump, who became the party's official nominee at this week's Republican National Convention (RNC), told Truth Social he spoke with Zelensky by phone and discussed a peaceful resolution to the war between Ukraine and Russia.

“President Zelensky of Ukraine and I had a very good call today. He congratulated me on a very successful Republican National Convention and on being the Republican nominee for President of the United States,” Trump wrote.

“He condemned last Saturday's heinous assassination attempt and said that at times like these, Americans should come together in a spirit of unity,” the Republican candidate continued.

“I appreciate President Zelenskyy's cooperation. As the next President of the United States, I intend to bring peace to the world and end a war that has taken so many lives and destroyed countless innocent families. Working together, both sides can negotiate an agreement that ends the violence and paves the way for prosperity,” Trump wrote.

Under the Biden administration, the United States has sent billions of dollars in foreign aid to Ukraine, including $60.8 billion in April. Nevertheless, the war has raged for more than two years since its inception on Feb. 24, 2022.

In a report released in late June, the Pentagon acknowledged that it did not know whether millions of dollars' worth of U.S. arms aid sent to Ukraine had been lost, destroyed or diverted. On July 11, Zelensky said: Biden During the NATO summit. That day, Biden Introduced The Ukrainian president also referred to himself as “Putin” in an attempt to prove his mental sanity to party members pressuring him to give up reelection.
