Trump’s Presidential Library Set for Miami-Dade College
On Tuesday, Florida officials unanimously approved the establishment of President Donald Trump’s presidential library at Miami-Dade College, as announced by his son, Eric Trump.
Governor Ron DeSantis and other state officials have pledged 2.63 acres of land to the Presidential Library Foundation, Eric Trump’s nonprofit organization, so the library can be built. Eric Trump expressed in a post on X that he envisions the building as “one of the most beautiful buildings ever” and a defining feature of the Miami skyline.
He remarked, “I am extremely proud to announce a unanimous vote for the transfer of land by the Florida Cabinet. The Presidential Library in Miami, Florida! This will be the largest presidential library ever built in honor of the largest president our country has ever known. Thank you very much, Governor DeSantis and Attorney General Uthmeier, for being incredible partners in this effort. Truly, this is going to be an iconic structure.”
DeSantis expressed his excitement about the library’s future presence in Florida, stating, “Having a Trump Presidential Library in Miami is good for Florida, the city, and Miami-Dade College. No state supports the president’s agenda better than the Free State of Florida.” He felt proud to have led the initiative to host the library in the president’s hometown.
Florida Attorney General James Usmier mentioned that he anticipates the library will serve as a tribute to patriotism for generations to come.
Currently, the land set aside for the library is being used as a parking lot for employees at the university’s Wolfson campus.
Trump, who shifted his primary residence from New York City to Palm Beach, Florida in September 2019, won Florida in all three of his presidential campaigns.
