Trump was speaking in Arizona, a battleground state that President Joe Biden won by just 10,000 votes in 2020 thanks to Vice President Kamala Harris' growing support, but which has become a key battleground state for Democrats again this year. According to To CNN.
“Those who work overtime are some of the hardest working people in this country, but for too long, no one in Washington has cared about them,” Trump said in the announcement. “These are the people who are really working – police officers, nurses, factory workers, construction workers, truck drivers, machine operators.”
This isn't the first time Trump has proposed legislation that would benefit workers: The former president announced his intention to repeal the tip tax in July, and in September proposed that seniors should be exempt from taxes on their Social Security benefits, according to Fox News. Reported.
Harris also made a similar pledge to repeal the tip tax in August 2024.
