Trump Moves Obama Portrait Within White House

Reports indicate that President Donald Trump has relocated former President Barack Obama’s portrait within the White House, as detailed by CNN on Sunday.

The portrait is now situated atop the grand staircase of the White House—a location generally off-limits to the public—alongside portraits of ex-presidents George H.W. Bush. This marks the second time Obama’s portrait has been moved; Trump swapped it for a photo of him from Butler, Pennsylvania, which came shortly after a failed assassination attempt in July 2024.

Meanwhile, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard has released documents where she claims Obama’s national security team provided evidence suggesting that they had “politicized the Intelligence Reporting Agency” in what they term a “long-standing coup” against Trump after his 2016 election victory over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. At a White House press briefing on July 23, Gabbard stated that Obama instigated criminal charges potentially related to the “Russian hoax” and that he played a role in “manufacturing” claims about Russian interference in the election.

In May 2023, Special Advisor John Durham issued a report analyzing the origins of the FBI’s investigation into Trump’s 2016 campaign, asserting that the FBI’s actions were “unsupported.”

During a trial in October 2022, FBI analyst Brian Orton testified that the FBI allocated $1 million to former UK intelligence officer Christopher Steele, contingent upon support for its claims, which Steele ultimately did not provide.

In July, CIA Director John Ratcliffe initiated a criminal probe involving former CIA Director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey, focusing on allegations of false statements to Congress. When confronted about this on MSNBC’s “Deadline: White House,” Brennan denied any wrongdoing, emphasizing that it was “true” to the CIA and asserting that there was no attempt to influence the 2016 election during Obama’s presidency.
