After graduating from high school, Crooks earned an associate's degree in engineering science from Allegheny County Community College and worked as a dietary aide at Bethel Park Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, according to the school district.
“It has been two years since we last saw Thomas Crooks, and it would be extremely irresponsible to speculate about his mental state,” the school district said.
