Trump Suggests UFC Might Host Event at the White House

Trump Hopes for UFC Event at White House for America’s 250th Birthday

During a speech at the Iowa Fairgrounds, President Donald Trump expressed his desire for the White House to host a UFC event as part of next year’s celebration of America’s 250th birthday.

Trump made the announcement in Des Moines, where he also previewed upcoming July 4th festivities. He envisioned a large championship fight taking place on the White House grounds, potentially drawing a crowd of 20,000 to 25,000 attendees.

“We’re planning a special event to honor America’s 250th. I think we’re going to organize a UFC fight. Is Dana White watching? Great! I’m excited about this,” Trump stated.

“Imagine a UFC fight right on the White House lawn. There’s plenty of space there. We’re going to set it up—well, Dana will handle that,” he added. “It’s going to be a championship event with lots of excitement, both professional and amateur. The UFC fight is expected to be a highlight.”

However, White House spokesperson Caroline Leavitt dismissed the idea, calling it “seriously dead.”

Trump has been a longtime supporter of the UFC and its CEO, Dana White, who has actively campaigned for him during the 2024 election cycle. At various UFC events, Trump has been met with enthusiastic chants of “America, America,” accompanied by loud applause.

After winning the election in 2024, Trump received an especially warm welcome at UFC 309 in November, prompting announcer Joe Rogan to remark, “This place is very loud. It’s always loud when he’s here.”

The UFC has yet to respond to inquiries regarding Trump’s remarks.
