Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) is criticizing President Joe Biden's new executive order, which effectively grants amnesty to thousands of illegal immigrants currently in the United States.

The president on Tuesday announced a plan to speed up the path to citizenship for hundreds of thousands of immigrants who have been in the United States illegally for more than a decade and are married to U.S. citizens.

Tuberville responded to the Biden administration's new policy on Fox Business on Tuesday.

“[T]”This is a complete nightmare for the American people, American citizens across the country,” Tuberville said. “We don't have any border states anymore. This is a disaster and it needs to be addressed immediately. We're more worried about our own country than we are about other countries. I've been there a few times. I really feel for the Border Patrol, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, the people who are supposed to be controlling the border. But it's out of control.”

The senator said he would support plans for mass deportations if former President Trump is elected in November.

“I've spoken to President Trump about this a few times, and he's in favor of starting deportations as soon as he's elected,” he explained. “Democrats want amnesty and want to curb illegal voting by illegal immigrants. But President Trump is in favor of deportations. That's exactly what he's doing. Again, the American people don't deserve the amnesty that's been given to them by the Biden administration these last three and a half years. So this is the No. 1 issue in this election. I don't care if Biden runs or any Democrat runs. President Trump knows he needs to address this border issue because this is the thing that could bring our country to its knees faster than anything else.”

Tuberville stressed that he believes this is an attempt to gain more Democratic support.

“The Democrats are just banking on this, and this is just another way to get as many people registered as possible,” he argued. “And there will be a lot of people voting illegally in this election, but I hope people understand what's going on. I think President Trump is going to get a lot of Democratic votes with this, because people are tired of the nonsense and the illegality of what the Democrats are doing.”
