Apache Junction, Arizona — Two people were killed when a plane crashed in the Superstition Mountains outside of Apache Junction in Pinal County.
The FAA said a single-engine Sokata TB30 Epsilon plane crashed into a mountain around 8 a.m. Saturday.
The plane took off from Mesa’s Falcon Fields with two people on board.

The NTSB issued the following statement Saturday afternoon:
“At 7:52 am mountain time on May 10, a Compagnie Daher TB 30 EPSILON aircraft operating as part of a three-plane plane crashed into terrain under unknown conditions. Two people were on board. , was mortally wounded.
When investigators arrive at the scene, they document the crash site and aircraft, and collect available flight trajectories and radar data.
A preliminary report detailing the facts and circumstances of the accident is expected to be submitted within two to three weeks. A final report with possible causes and contributing factors is expected within 12-24 months. ”
