NASA has selected three Huntsville companies and the University of Alabama at Birmingham as part of a nearly $500 million contract to provide research, engineering and mission integration services to the International Space Station program.
The 11 companies selected for the program include AXT, Tec-Masters, and Teledyne Brown Engineering.
of $478 million The Research, Engineering, and Mission Integration Services-2 contract supports work for the International Space Station program based at NASA's Johnson Space Center. HOUSTON, NASA said in a news release. The companies will provide spaceflight, ground hardware and software, maintenance of engineering capabilities and services, payload facility integration, and integrated operations services for research missions.

Each company receives multiple contracts, unlimited quantity contracts with fixed price and cost plus fixed fee task orders. 7 year contract extends to September 30, 2030There is an option to extend the September 30, 2032. NASA says:.

The majority of the work will be performed at contractor facilities across the country. Depending on requirements, services may also be required at other NASA centers, contractor or subcontractor locations, or vendor facilities.
The contract also included a small business reserve, which was fulfilled by selecting Aegis. cimarronConsolidated Safety Services, JES Tech, Metis, and Tec-Masters.
