Residents of unincorporated Yavapai County will soon have access to high-speed internet in their homes and businesses. Back on Dec. 21, Yavapai County officials and officials and Wecom Fiber representatives announced plans to install broadband service in Cordes Lakes, Spring Valley, White Horse Ranch, Paulden, Rimrock, and Beaver Creek. A groundbreaking ceremony was held to commemorate the start of construction. “Broadband is critical, benefiting students, online job seekers, telecommuters, Internet retailers, and everyone who depends on reliable access to high-speed Internet,” said Yavapai County Supervisor James Gregory. It’s a great service.” The project, funded in part by a $2.6 million grant from the Yavapai County Broadband Initiative, will build approximately 62 miles of fiber-optic lines and provide broadband internet to an estimated 2,160 homes and businesses in the county. We plan to make it available. The project is expected to be completed and online this summer.
