Upcoming Road Projects will Impact Traffic in Cochise County | News

Cochise County, Arizona (KVOA) – Cochise County Public Works has announced three upcoming road projects that will temporarily affect traffic in parts of Cochise County.

These projects will also be announced on an electronic message sign at the location.

  • Gleason Road between the Tombstone City Line in Elfrida and US 191. From April 24, 2023 to May 18, 2023, the Chip/Seal and Pavement Maintenance Project will have one lane closed for the duration of the project. There will be traffic jams and temporary traffic lights.
  • Sierra Vista Service Center Parking Lot, Sierra Vista, Colonia de Saludo 100. A weekend-only pavement maintenance project from April 29, 2023 to May 14, 2023 will partially close the courthouse parking lot and sheriff’s office (map attached). All vehicles, including county vehicles, must be removed from their designated section prior to the affected weekend.
  • Charleston Road between Sierra Vista City Line and Old Charleston Road in Tombstone. A pavement maintenance project will close one lane by the end of May 2023. The exact date will be announced as soon as possible. There will be traffic jams and temporary traffic lights.
