In a statement in Spanish on Twitter, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil denounced the group of countries as “a group of right-wing regimes subservient to Washington and openly committed to the most vile ideological claims of international fascism.” He explicitly cited doubts about the results and implementation of Venezuela's presidential elections as the reason.

Venezuela's election dispute stems from allegations of fraud and vote rigging by incumbent President Nicolás Maduro. Both presidential candidates have declared victory, with the opposition citing an independent poll that said he received 70% of the vote. Maduro's declaration is based on the official results of the election, which put his candidate at 51% of the vote. Argentine President Javier Milley and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken have expressed concern that the official results do not reflect the true will of the voters.

Many other Latin American countries followed suit, expressing skepticism about the election, the Costa Rican foreign ministry said in a statement in Spanish. I got it.Costa Rica, along with other countries, called for an “urgent meeting of the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) to issue a resolution that will uphold the will of the people within the framework of the Democratic Charter and the fundamental principles of democracy in the region,” the press release said.

“Venezuela condemns and warns the world about the operations of foreign governments and forces against its electoral processes, its right to self-determination and its country's sovereignty,” Gil said on Twitter in English.

Dr. Javier González Olaechea Franco, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru; Admitted “Venezuela's decision to suspend diplomatic relations is a “grave and arbitrary decision,” he said in a Spanish-language press release. In response, the minister also ordered the withdrawal of Venezuelan diplomats in Peru within 72 hours.
