Video Shows Fireworks Rocket Into Stadium Stands, Sending Several To Hospital

At an Independence Day event at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah, a malfunction caused fireworks to be launched into the crowd, injuring several spectators.

“We are pleased to report that the incident occurred during a 911 call,” said Janna Lee Holland, spokeswoman for the Provo Police Department. Video footage from the event circulated on social media showed multiple fireworks shooting into the arena's performers and spectators. Some of the injured were taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to KUTV. The event was temporarily halted while emergency personnel responded.

After a thorough assessment of the situation, Brigham Young University Police determined the event could continue following the incident.
