Video Shows Italian Artist Creating Image Of Eiffel Tower Over Several Fields Using Tractor

Italian land artist Dario Gambarin has shown off his artistic skills by cultivating images of the Eiffel Tower into several fields, The Associated Press reported on Monday.

Gambaran painted a huge piece of art in a field on his farm as a tribute to the upcoming Paris Olympics.

The video shows Gambaran using the tractor's spade to dig into the ground, like a painter using a brush on a canvas. The footage zooms out to reveal a giant version of the Eiffel Tower with five interlocking rings placed underneath it. The word “Paris” can be seen carved into the ground beneath the rings. Gambaran placed the year “2024” to the left of the tower and what appears to be “AD” to the right. Gambaran sketched on paper the areas of the field he had plowed.

This isn't the first time Gambalin has made a name for himself: In April 2023, the Italian artist used a tractor to paint a replica of Pablo Picasso's 1907 self-portrait on a roughly 270,000-square-foot field, according to Smithsonian Magazine. reportGambarin undertook the initiative to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Picasso's death.

“When I'm on a tractor, I'm like a blind painter, I can't see anything,” Gambarin told the outlet. “I have a great sense of space and balance. I fix the image in my head. I draw the portrait over and over on the table, then I finish it by drawing it in the dirt.”
