An American Eagle flight arriving from Philadelphia crashed at Rochester International Airport Thursday afternoon, ABC 6 report. The aircraft was reportedly an E-145 Embraer regional jet operated by American Airlines, which owns American Eagle. According to the paper, the plane slipped on the grass and veered off the taxiway around 4 p.m. after landing.
The plane, carrying 50 passengers and three crew members, encountered difficulties after landing on the main runway, ABC6 reported. American Airlines said in a statement that the plane skidded due to snow on the airfield, which caused an unexpected change in the landing procedure.
