Flagstaff, Arizona (AZ Family) — With Arizona a key battleground state in this year’s election, both parties will make campaign stops across the state this weekend.
Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz made his first visit to Flagstaff on Saturday.
Walz’s team said 1,300 people gathered in downtown Flagstaff to hear him speak.
Recent polls show Trump and Harris tied in Arizona, with Walz on important topics such as the economy, abortion access and Trump’s past emphasis on the presidency. Mentioned.

“He signed an executive order to eliminate the ACA on his first day in office, and he has tried 60 times to eliminate the ACA,” Walz said. “If it wasn’t for the courage of John McCain, they would have gotten rid of it.”
Other Coconino County leaders also showed up to show support, including Jonathan Nez.
U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, a Winslow native, also spoke at Walz’s rally.
She then headed to the Navajo Nation to speak with Native voters. Walz was there earlier in the week.
“This is an important election for Indian country, so I’m just going to make sure they understand how important their vote and their voice is in this election,” Haaland said.
Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris campaigned in Arizona this week.
Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance also visited the Valley this weekend. He made a campaign stop in Scottsdale on Saturday.
Walz’s final message was to get out and vote. “If we vote, we win!” Thank you, Arizona! ”
