“Montanans are ready to make a change and fire Jon Tester. He is the largest recipient of lobbyist money and votes 95% of the time for the disastrous Biden-Harris policies that have led to reckless spending, record inflation and open borders,” a Sheehy campaign spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Jon Tester knows he will lose this race, which is why he continues to do more despicable things, because desperate people will do desperate things. We need all of our supporters to vote now so we can win in a landslide and retire Jon Tester for good!”
Sheehy is a former Navy SEAL and Purple Heart recipient for his service in Iraq and Afghanistan. Approved Trump endorsed Sheehy in February, the same day that Republican Rep. Matt Rosendale announced his candidacy for the Senate, but Rosendale withdrew his candidacy less than a week later.
“I also respect Matt Rosendale and have had the great pleasure of supporting him in the past, and would support him again in the future if he changes course and runs for Congress,” Trump said. said In a February 9 Truth Social post, he wrote, “But in this case, Tim is the candidate currently best positioned to defeat Lazy John Tester and restore the Republican majority in the U.S. Senate. Tim is a political outsider who is strong on borders, military/veterans, and the Second Amendment, which is constantly under attack. He will stand tall in the fight against the Radical Left Democrats who are destroying our Country. He also has a much better chance of defeating Lazy John. I fully endorse Tim Sheehy, an America First patriot!”
Polls show that Republicans make up about 40% of Montana's electorate, while only about a quarter are Democrats, putting Tester at a disadvantage electorally, as the incumbent president will need to win over independents if he wants to secure reelection.
Tester continues to hold his seat in a Republican state. Elected He won reelection in 2006 against Republican incumbent Conrad Burns. 2012 To U.S. Representative Denny Rehberg 2018 Both wins against Rosendale were close, but they were victorious.
Tester's campaign ads aim to appeal to Montana voters by accusing him of “working with Trump” and “standing up to Biden” during his term and working to cut spending and secure the border.
“I'm not like the people in Washington, but that's OK,” Tester says. said The ad states: “All I care about is protecting Montana.”
The AARP poll was conducted Aug. 25-Aug. 29 among 1,064 Montana voters and has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
Tester's campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
