Deputies were called in for a car break-in into the 300 block of Custer Avenue in the town of Akron. The car owner did not want to file charges.
Attorneys responded to vehicle fires on Highway 36 and County Road LL. Further investigation revealed that it was arson. This incident is under investigation.

Lawmakers received complaints while driving on Highway 34 heading west toward Akron. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle at 1st and Itea when it began to evade them. Driver Diego Nevarez lost control of his car on 3rd Street and Hickory and ended up in the parking lot of a Baptist church. Nevarez then fled on foot towards Gum Avenue, where he was taken into custody after breaking into a garage loft. Agents found the vehicle stolen from Logan County. Nevarez obtained a warrant from Yuma County for $5,000.00, which the Department of Corrections held without security. Nevarez was charged with vehicle escape, reckless driving, obstruction of security forces, second degree trespassing, criminal possession of identification, first degree aggravated vehicle theft, and violating a protection order. Nevarez is held in $15,000.00 cash/guaranteed bonds.
Delegates corresponded to 100 blocks in the East 5th Ward of the town of Akron for welfare checks. Upon arrival, it was decided that the party would be taken to a local hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.
January 30, 2023
A deputy was dispatched to the 600 block of Grand Avenue in the town of Akron due to possible domestic violence involving guns. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the discussion was verbal only and did not involve a gun.
