White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller appeared on Fox News on Friday, praising the new U.S. Supreme Court ruling on a national injunction, calling it a “monologic” victory over American democracy.
Supreme Court’s 6-3 ruling Friday ruled that it has surpassed President Donald Trump’s authority to end the ability of lower courts to issue national injunctions and block the restrictions on birthright citizenship. When featured in the “Special Report with Bret Baier,” Miller said control would restore the balance of power among government branches.
“It’s a monumental bullet. This 6-3 rule restores American democracy. Therefore, President Trump has had a national injunction issued against him for the past five months than it was issued in the 100 years of the 20th century,” Miller said. “Most of these nationwide injunctions come from very stiff district court judges in just four or five cities, including Los Angeles, Boston, San Francisco and Chicago.”
Miller pointed out the decision as a reaffirmation of the executive authority, particularly the role of the president in command of federal agencies.

“No one in the US agreed to be ruled by district court judges in Chicago, Manhattan, Los Angeles and San Francisco. They elected the US president. They said today the Supreme Court is in charge of President Trump’s administrative division,” Miller said. “The Department of Defense, the Department of Justice, the Department of Homeland Security, that’s how our democracy works.”
Miller said unelected judges in liberal cities should not have the authority to override the will of the American people. (Related: Greg Jarrett shares the thought-provoking point Justice Golsh made in Scotts Planned Parenthood decisions)
“We go to the poll every four years and elect a president. We don’t elect Marxist judges in the left and right cities to control us. That’s what the Supreme Court today said,” added Miller.
The Trump administration appealed a lower court order obstructing the ban on high-class citizenship, urging the Supreme Court to limit the power of district court judges to issue national injunctions.
