Mohave County TV fans may find their screens a little dull this week as Mother Nature prepares her latest spectacle.
The National Weather Service has spotlighted an impending weather event that will benefit all local TV translation sites. Those behind the scenes have toolbelts ready for any signal troubles, while handing out remotes to viewers and telling them, “If your TV stops working, call the hotline of Wecom, our signal maintenance subcontractor.'' “Please, but resist the urge.” Rescan night channels. Doing so may wipe out your channel lineup until the airwaves clear and it's safe to scan again. Please keep the remote control away.
Lake Havasu library invites teens for free VR adventure
Dive into the digital world this week at Lake Havasu Public Library.
On Thursdays at 3:30 p.m., teens are invited to “Welcome to the Metaverse: Exploring Virtual Reality” in Community Room B.
This innovative, free event is supported by an Arizona grant and is aimed at youth ages 13-18. Virtual reality technology goes beyond traditional gaming to provide 360-degree immersive experiences that include educational and interactive storytelling.
The Mohave County Library District wants to introduce teens to the endless possibilities of VR. Space is limited. Registration and a liability waiver signed by a parent or guardian are required.
Parents and friends can also join in and see first-hand the future of digital interaction.
