“We’re Seriously Going to Take Control of Washington, DC”: Dana White Discusses UFC Event at the White House

Upcoming UFC Events at the White House

On Friday, UFC president Dana White appeared on Fox News to discuss exciting new events planned for the White House. President Donald Trump previously announced that next year, in celebration of America’s 250th birthday, the UFC Championship fight will be hosted on the White House grounds.

During a segment with Brett Baier, White shared that these events will feature live music, outdoor seating, large screens, and a festival-like vibe, allowing fans to gather on the South Lawn to watch the fight.

“We have a stage where bands can play all day. People can bring blankets, relax, and enjoy the fight,” White mentioned, emphasizing the aim to create a lively atmosphere in Washington, D.C. that week. “We’ll handle the logistics and hold measurements for the setup. Plus, we plan to host a fan event throughout the week.”

White disclosed that he was the one to propose the idea of hosting the UFC fight at the White House.

“One day, he [Trump] expressed how much he loves the White House. He’s very proud of it and wants to bring Americans together for various events. He didn’t hesitate to agree with me,” White said.

Regarding attendance, White noted that they are still finalizing the seating arrangements, estimating it will accommodate fewer than 5,000 people due to weight restrictions on the grass. “We’re working with a structure that allows great visibility of the monument,” he added.

White also mentioned that Ivanka Trump will be the primary planner for the event, and in addition to the gathering on the South Lawn, a large viewing party is set to accommodate up to 85,000 fans at the Ellipse.

“Trump entrusted Ivanka with organizing this, and when we shared the plan with her, she said, ‘Dana, don’t mess up the surroundings,’” White recalled.

Trump and White have maintained a close relationship; White was an active supporter of Trump during the 2024 election. Trump has made several appearances at UFC events, often receiving enthusiastic applause and chants from the audience, particularly during UFC 309 in November, where he shared the arena with notable figures.
