The cities of Lake Havasu, Kingman, and Bullhead are all reviewing their water and wastewater service rates at the same time.
All three Mojave County cities may revise their rates in the coming months, but for now, the combined water and wastewater bill for the average single-family home in Havasu, Bullhead, and Kingman is , are very similar.
The Havasu City Council has hired Wildon Financial Services to conduct the 2023 Utility Rate Survey, and last week senior project managers Kevin Barnett and Wildon led a stakeholder meeting for Havasu residents, as well. Havasu has the lowest water bill in Mojave County at $15.98, which is also the lowest of the 11 cities. Havasu is followed by Kingman with a bill of $20.20. An example of Bullhead’s bill is he’s the highest in the county at $37.86, but overall he has the fifth highest water bill.
Buckeye has the highest water bill on the list at $60.12, followed by Flagstaff at $56.26. Willdan also reported that his Epcor customer’s water bill in the Havasu area was his $50.40, making him the fourth highest on the list.
Sample sewerage rates provided by Burnett are for an average residence based on 700 cubic feet of usage.
All three cities in Mojave County are swapping when it comes to sewer charges. Bullhead City is the cheapest in the county at $35.55, Kingman $52.11 and Lake Havasu City $55.66.
Avondale has the lowest overall sewer rate at $28.68, while Casa Grande’s sample rate of $83.02 is by far the highest.
But when you add up your water and sewer bills, the average residential customer in all three Mojave County cities bills less than $2. Havasu is slightly lower at $71.64 combined, followed by Kingman ($72.31) and Bullhead City ($73.29).
All three cities in Mojave County were at the bottom of the list Wildon provided. Only Yuma ($68.77) and Avondale ($52.74) had lower total utility costs. Casa Grande was the most expensive of the 11 cities surveyed, with a total of $132.34 for water and sewerage, Prescott ($117.56), Goodyear ($106.01), Flagstaff ($100.91) and Buckeye ($99.45). , followed by Marana ($94.18).
