Ahh… the marlin. One of God's greatest creations.

That being said, marlin can be a very tricky fish to catch, especially when they are as big as blue marlin. When fishing for marlin, it's important to be 100% vigilant when these monsters (incredibly fast, strong and intelligent) come near your boat.

Given their speed and ability to change direction like a light turning on and off, their behavior when left vulnerable, such as being caught by someone like me, is highly unpredictable. (Related: Jimbo Fisher goes on epic hunting trip in Africa and returns with exotic catch)

Well, the crew of a boat named Jubilee found this out quickly on Monday when they got a marlin hooked. Sure enough, the legendary creature started leaping about in an attempt to get away. The fish eventually got close enough to the boat that one of the crew members was able to grab the leader and set it free.

And then things started to get a little scary.

A video posted to social media by the Fairhope Fishing Company shows the marlin jumping onto the boat and nearly killing one of the fishermen, nearly stabbing him in the head, neck and chest. There was definitely some crazy luck involved.

This, my friends, is exactly why there are major league teams named after these beautiful animals.
