Yuma, Ariz. (Kyma, Kecy) – Wind recommendations remain in effect for Imperial County until Tuesday night, with gusts reaching 25-40 mph.
The refreshing conditions, with the strongest winds expected on Tuesday, continue every afternoon. As this system progresses, additional wind alerts may be issued due to Western Imperial County east of Phoenix and higher elevations.
Yuma County will also see windy afternoons, but the wind is not as strong as Imperial Valley. Residents should expect gusts of wind conditions by mid-week, especially in open desert areas.
The cooling trend began on Tuesday, falling in Yuma and Imperial Counties in the mid-70s, marking a normal 5-10-degree drop. The temperatures overnight will also be cooler, dropping to a low 50’s by the middle of the week.
The chances of rain remained low, with only 10-15% showers in the lower desert of Arizona later in the week. Most areas are expected to remain dry due to limited moisture from this system.
As the winds weaken later in the week, temperatures gradually warm up, reaching the late 70s by Saturday, returning to low 80s by Sunday, bringing seasonal weather over the weekend.
