Yavapai County Workforce Summit Scheduled

Yavapai College, in collaboration with Yavapai County, is set to host a Workforce Summit on Thursday, November 6th, at the Prescott Campus. The event will run from 9am to 1pm, located at 1100 E. Sheldon St., Room 147.

The summit, themed “Yavapai Works: County Roadmap to Workforce Growth,” aims to outline a cohesive strategy for the future workforce in the area. This initiative is intended to foster workforce development while addressing the broader needs of the county.

“This summit is about uniting the county under a shared vision for workforce growth,” remarked Dr. Lisa Rhein, president of Yavapai University. “We’re witnessing swift changes in industry, housing, and population dynamics. It’s crucial to devise innovative solutions and enhance collaboration to ensure our communities thrive.”

The half-day program will provide data-driven insights into workforce and economic trends impacting Yavapai County’s future and will delve into creative strategies to better understand the county’s workforce and economic development landscape. Collaborative planning sessions are designed to spark action and align resources for enduring success.

“This summit represents a vital step towards gathering diverse elements of our community to map out a shared economic future,” stated Maury Thompson, Yavapai County manager. “By working together, we can equip our workforce for upcoming challenges and opportunities, ensuring our county remains a desirable place to live and work.”

The Workforce Summit will kick off a series of discussions focused on three primary objectives: creating a shared understanding of the county’s workforce and economic development frameworks, identifying key intervention points and priorities, and strengthening relationships to enhance the region’s economic vitality.
