On September 9, 2022, the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors appointed Morley Thompson as the next Yavapai County Administrator. On December 1, 2022, Mr. Thompson officially began his Yavapai County career, joining his management team at 1015 Fair Street in Prescott, Arizona.

Mr. Thompson came to Yavapai County from Johnson County, Kansas, where he has been the deputy county manager since 2017. Prior to that, he served as Assistant County Manager and Executive Director of Development Support for Johnson County.
Mr. Thompson holds a master’s degree in public administration from the Park College School of Public Affairs in Kansas City, Missouri.
“We look forward to seeing what Mr. Thompson has to offer to Yavapai County and are confident the county administration team will make his transition a success,” said Mary Mallory, chairman of the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors. “
