Yavapai County Broadband Initiative and Sparklight to Launch High-Speed Internet Installation in Verde Villages | Prescott Valley Times local news

Yavapai County Schools Superintendent Tim Carter is pleased to announce that the Yavapai County Broadband Initiative (YCBI), in partnership with Sparklight, will begin installing both aerial and underground broadband in the Village of Verde in early December. I’m glad. This funding comes from an appropriation from a federal grant entitled the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). This will provide high-speed broadband service to the 4411 road (residential and business) property lines along the north and south sides of Arizona Highway 260 just east of Cottonwood.

Yavapai County YCBI leadership and Sparklight will host three mutually replicating meetings on Nov. 21, 25, and 26 at 6 p.m. in the Mingus Union High School cafeteria. We are very grateful to Mingus Union for allowing us to use it. their facilities. Yavapai County staff will provide information on the project’s history, which areas of the county it will connect, the contractor selection process, and more. Sparklight staff will then walk you through the build, which will begin on December 2nd, and explain the process to be followed, along with information about the service and expected completion date. Distribute printed materials and take questions from attendees.

The meeting is scheduled as follows:

Thursday, Nov. 21, Mingus Union High School Cafeteria, 6-7:30 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 25, Mingus Union High School cafeteria, 6-7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 26, Mingus Union High School Cafeteria, 6-7:30 p.m.
