Yavapai County Connections Center Earns “Welcomed Here” Designation

The Yavapai County Connection Center has successfully completed a grueling eight-month period. Inclusive space workshop series, earning Yavapai County the prestigious “Welcome Here” designation for the first time. This achievement confirms the Community Health Service’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where all members of the public feel safe and welcome.

you are welcome here Inclusive space workshop The series consists of four comprehensive workshops over eight months, covering key aspects of inclusion and belonging.

The series included Fundamentals of Inclusion and Belonging, Management Practices for Inclusion and Belonging, Physical Inclusion, and Social Inclusion.

Each workshop provided in-depth training, hands-on exercises, and actionable strategies to create more inclusive spaces and practices. Between each workshop, participants worked individually with Executive Director Susan Parrington to identify and create action plans to improve inclusion.

“We are proud to have earned the ‘Welcome Here’ designation,” said Savas Oliver, re-entry program manager at Connection Center. “This achievement reflects our dedication to creating a welcoming environment for all. We are committed to implementing and sustaining inclusive practices in our daily operations. Masu.”

The “Welcome Here” designation means that the Connection Center has not only completed a series of workshops, but is also committed to ongoing inclusive practices.

The Connection Center applies these principles to all individuals seeking connection to substance use recovery, behavioral health, and social service resources.

The Connection Center will continue to strive to maintain its “Welcome Here” status by regularly reviewing and improving its inclusive practices. Sabas-Oliver added, “Our goal is to make sure everyone feels valued and included when interacting with the Yavapai County Connection Center.” added.
