Starting at 8am on Friday, May 23, 2025, Yabapai County Fire Prohibition Zones 3 (3), 4 (4) and 5 (5) will work with the Department of Forestry and Fire Management and Land Management to implement Stage 2 fire restrictions to reduce the risk of wildfires. This implementation marks the first use of Yabapai County updated
Outdoor Fire Ordinance 2025-2 replaces Ordinance 2020-2.
Stage 2 fire restrictions have been preemptively enacted by a provisional order signed by Chairman Mallory in May [date] 2025. The formal resolution will be made before the Yabapai County Board of Supervisors for approval at the next meeting on June 4, 2025. These restrictions are in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management and federal partners, including the Tonto National Forest, which entered stage 2 fire restrictions on May 1, 2025. Black Canyon City, Congress, Northwickenburg, People’s Valley, Yarnell, Willow and Unincorporated Areas

These fire restrictions remain in effect until the wildfire risk level decreases. Fire and safety agencies involved in this decision collectively decide when conditions allow the lifting of the fire ban.
