
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is required to publicly disclose the following information pursuant to Sex Offender Act Community Notice ARS 13-3825. The publication says the perpetrator plans to live in an unincorporated area of Yavapai County. Notifying the community is the responsibility of the Chief Law Enforcement Office, which has jurisdiction over the area where the offender resides. Notification must be given when certain sex offenders are released from an Arizona prison, accepted under an interstate compact, or released from a county jail and returned to society. Offenders are categorized into three levels: Level 1 (low risk to the community), Level 2 (medium risk to the community), and Level 3 (high risk to the community).
The person mentioned in the notice, 45-year-old Troy Merrill Grosskopf, has been convicted of a sex crime and is eligible for community notification. The sex offender notified the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office that he planned to reside at 20002 E. Antelope Rd, Mayer, Az 86333. This person is not wanted by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office at this time.
On April 13, 1998, an 18-year-old offender was convicted of attempted third-degree child rape in Thruston County. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison and 12 months suspended. The victim was a 13-year-old female who was an acquaintance of the perpetrator.
On April 22, 1999, a 19-year-old offender was convicted of failure to register in Thurston County and sentenced to four months in prison and 12 months of probation.
On February 13, 2001, a 20-year-old offender in Thurston County was convicted of failure to register and sentenced to 80 days in jail, suspended for 12 months.
On July 25, 2007, a 27-year-old offender was convicted of failure to register in Thurston County and sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for 48 months.
This notice is not intended to be fear-mongering. Rather, it is the Sheriff’s Office’s belief that an informed community is a safer community. It is unacceptable for citizens to misuse this information to intimidate, intimidate, or harass sex offenders.
YCSO would like to remind the public that the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Program is available at the following locations: www.ycsoaz.gov. The registry allows anyone to enter a local address and creates a list of registered sex offenders in Yavapai County who live within a one-mile radius of the address they enter. The registry also provides information about certain sex offenders registered in Yavapai County. Additionally, you will receive a free email notification program that alerts you to registered sex offenders in Yavapai County who reside within one mile of the address you entered during your subscription.
