Free Meals for Kids Program in Yavapai County
Yavapai County Community Health Services (YCCHS) is excited to announce the “Free Meals for Kids” program this summer. This initiative, organized by AZ Healthzone, aims to provide nutritious meals to children while schools are closed. Children under 18 can access free breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks at participating schools and community sites.
Supporting Healthier Lifestyles
This program is part of YCCHS’s ongoing effort related to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-ED). It focuses on equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills to lead healthier lives. Through the Community Health Education Program, YCCHS offers practical education that empowers residents to make informed health choices.
Programs to Empower Families:
- Healthy Diet: Learn to plan and prepare nutritious meals while understanding food labels and making informed food choices.
- Be Physically Active: Explore enjoyable ways to incorporate physical activity into daily routines for overall health.
- Prevent Chronic Diseases: Gain insights to reduce the risk of diet-related chronic diseases, like type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
YCCHS is dedicated to programs that improve the health and well-being of residents in Yavapai County. For information on the location and schedule of the “Free Meals for Kids” program, community members are encouraged to check out the Arizona Summer Food Service Program by AZ Healthzone.
