Yavapai County Title III Forest Fee Program

The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for the 2024-2025 Title III Forest Fee Program. There is approximately $119,549 in funds available for the program. Funding is provided on a reimbursement basis.

Project proposals will be considered from within and outside of County Government. All eligible projects must fall into one of the following categories:

  1. Implement activities based on the Firewise Community Program Provides education and technical implementation assistance to homeowners in fire-sensitive ecosystems regarding home siting, construction, landscaping, and maintenance of their surroundings that will reduce the risk of injury or death, and damage or destruction to their homes, from local wildfires.
  2. Reimburse participating counties (Yavapai County Sheriff's Office only) Services, including search and rescue and other emergency services, fire and law enforcement patrols, that a) are performed on Federal lands after the date the use is authorized under subsection and b) are paid for by a participating county.
  3. To cover training costs and equipment purchase costs directly related to the emergency services referred to in paragraph 2.
  4. Develop and implement a Community Wildfire Prevention Plan (CWPP) Conducting hazardous fuels reduction projects, wildfire mitigation assessments, removing vegetation identified as contributing to fire risk in the CWPP, and conducting community volunteering days focused on implementing fire mitigation measures.

The deadline for grant applications for the 2024-2025 fiscal year is Friday, August 30, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.

Applications will first be reviewed for funding eligibility and reviewed for greatest need by the Yavapai County Emergency Management Division and presented to the Board of Supervisors for review and preliminary funding determination at the Board of Supervisors meeting on October 2, 2024.

Following the publication of the preliminary project list and a 45-day notice and comment period, the final allocation will be approved at the Board of Supervisors meeting on December 4, 2024.
